Be Prepared: It Isn't Just For Boy Scouts!

Sometimes things don't work out exactly as planned. Crystal and Scott had planned to hold their outdoor ceremony at Cave Point in Door County, overlooking Lake Michigan. Showers were not in the plan. Adjustments were made...the ceremony was held in a shelter and the showers moved off in time for us the get some beautiful portraits in the park.
Professional photographers...especially wedding photographers need to constantly make adjustments. How do I tell the story of your day in the most beautiful way? How do I show the horse-drawn carriage AND the family farm in the shot I want? How will we convince your little nephew to be in the family portrait when he suddenly wants to be somewhere else? What type of lighting and equipment will be best to show the mood of the scene? Do I really need to carry that extra bag of equipment? (Yes! I have a back-up of everything, just in case!) Photographing weddings is not for the faint of heart, but with experience and education comes the ability to think on your feet and adjust as needed.
Every wedding is beautiful and unique and can offer its own challenges, but within each challenge lies the opportunity to capture a remarkable moment to be preserved for all time.
